Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.

A series of attacks damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks come after periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were bracing for more assaults.
